The Innovation Challenge 2024 is run by Digital Isle of Man, in conjunction with Finance Isle of Man and Business Isle of man which are all Agencies with delegated authority of the Department for Enterprise (DfE) within the Isle of Man Government. The organising Agency of the Challenge is Digital Isle of Man (“Digital Isle of Man”).
The Innovation Challenge 2024 consists of three distinct Challenge Themes, which are:
- FinTech
- Artificial Intelligence
- Cleantech
All of which reference the backdrop of the UNESCO Isle of Man Biosphere
All information and materials submitted to Digital Isle of Man as part of this Innovation Challenge (“Proposal(s)”), including any ideas, concepts, know-how or techniques, designs, data, drawings, comments, technology, questions, or the like, will be considered NON-CONFIDENTIAL. For this reason, we ask that you not send us any information or materials that you do not wish to be made public, including, without limitation, any confidential information.
By submitting your responses, each entrant represents and warrants that:
- Any Proposal is the original creation of the individual, business, sole proprietorship, non-profit entity, government entity, or educational entity entering this Innovation Challenge
- You are authorised to submit a Proposal on behalf of such individual or organisation
- The Proposal has not been copied or derived in whole or in part from any other works
- The Proposal does not violate or infringe any copyright, trademark, design right, privacy or publicity right, or other personal, proprietary or intellectual property right of any person or entity
- The Proposal is not defamatory, libellous, obscene, or otherwise illegal
- The Proposal is the sole and exclusive property of the entrant or the business, individual or organisation entering the Innovation Challenge
- The entrant has complete, worldwide distribution rights for the Proposal
- The entrant has received the written consent of any other person with rights or any interest in the Proposal
- The entrant is responsible for obtaining all applicable export control approvals as required by their jurisdiction and will notify Digital Isle of Man as applicable; and submissions must not contain content, material or any element that is unlawful, or otherwise in violation of or contrary to all applicable laws.
Each entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Digital Isle of Man, Finance Isle of Man, Business Isle of Man and the Department for Enterprise, and any of their respective affiliates, for any action brought by a person whose consent for the Proposal was required but was not obtained or for any 3rd party claims that any Proposal infringes the intellectual property rights of a 3rd party. Proposals, along with the entrant’s name, logos, city, state, country or province of residence, may be posted on any Website owned and/or operated by Digital Isle of Man, Finance Isle of Man or Department for Enterprise, or any other affiliated website or other online point of presence on any platform used for the purpose of publicising the Challenge and its outcomes. Digital Isle of Man decision to publish any Proposal or any portion of a Proposal does not mean that the selected Proposal has been successful as a winning Proposal in the Challenge.
Each Proposal must be in the English language and must be the original creation of the individual, business, sole proprietorship, non-profit entity, government entity, or educational entity entering the Innovation Challenge. Proposals that do not meet the requirements set forth in these rules may be disqualified in our sole discretion. An entrant can submit an entry against more than one of the Challenge Statements, but NOT more than one Proposal for a single Challenge Statement. Any Proposal submitted by an entrant must be substantially different than any other Proposal submitted by that entrant.
Entrants are responsible for all costs associated with preparing and submitting their Proposals, including applications, and building and testing prototypes. All Proposals that violate any intellectual property rights, will be deemed ineligible. Proposals must be received no later than 11:59:59 P.M. (GMT) on 29th February 2024. Entrant’s proof of submission does not constitute proof of our receipt. Digital Isle of Man is not responsible for lost, misdirected, late, illegible, incomplete, inaccurate, delayed, garbled or unintelligible Proposals. Proposals will not be returned to the entrants. Successful submission and subsequent awards are subject to all local laws.

Please note that your submissions (e.g. including any contract terms or disclaimers) do not have any legally binding effect on Digital Isle of Man, Finance Isle of Man, Business Isle of Man, and the Department for Enterprise.
