The Digital Isle Tech Awards 2024 brought together the Isle of Man’s thriving tech community on Thursday 28 November, as part of Digital Isle 2024. The awards celebrated the individuals, teams, and organisations shaping the Island’s digital landscape and driving technological innovation forward.
The awards were marked by outstanding achievements across seven categories, each recognising excellence and contribution to the tech industry. The awards not only highlighted the achievements of the winners but also celebrated the wider contributions of all nominees.
Each category was judged by an expert panel with a range of expertise, ensuring that each winner reflected the innovation, impact, and collaboration driving the sector forward.
Following a rigorous review of nominations, and a public vote, the winners were announced as follows:
Digital Trailblazer: eSIM Go
eSIM Go emerged as the winner of the Digital Trailblazer award. Their innovative "MVNO-in-a-box" platform has redefined the telecommunications market, offering organisations a seamless, scalable entry into the mobile industry. This cutting-edge solution has transformed customer engagement and demonstrated the potential of automation and innovation in the sector.
Tech Team of the Year: Afundi
Afundi claimed the Tech Team of the Year award for their exceptional collaboration in creating JobHunt.im. This dynamic job board showcases a user-friendly design and seamless integration, redefining the job search experience on the Isle of Man. Their innovative approach and teamwork set a benchmark for tech project excellence.
Women in Tech Award: Jade Zorab
Jade Zorab was honoured with the Women in Tech award for her outstanding contributions to compliance innovation and her advocacy for gender diversity within the industry. Jade’s leadership and initiatives have inspired many, fostering a more inclusive and innovative tech ecosystem on the Island.
Community Impact Champion: Bruce Elliott
Bruce Elliott and Memory Lane Games were recognised as the Community Impact Champions. Their app, designed to support dementia patients and caregivers, has reached over 100 countries, creating meaningful social change. Combining user-centric design with measurable outcomes, this work exemplifies the transformative potential of technology.
Tech Educator of the Year: Jade Zorab
Jade Zorab received her second accolade of the evening as Tech Educator of the Year. Through the Amber Gaming Compliance Academy, she has spearheaded initiatives that have empowered professionals and nurtured emerging talent, bridging the gap between education and industry needs.
Student Technologist of the Year: Jayden Birks
Recognised for his exceptional creativity and technical acumen, Jayden Birks was named Student Technologist of the Year. His work as a Capture Artist in gaming demonstrated not only skill but a drive to excel in a competitive industry, showcasing the next generation of tech talent.
Tech Supporter of the Year: Continent 8 Technologies
Continent 8 Technologies took home the Tech Supporter of the Year award for their critical role in enabling global market expansion for Isle of Man licensees. Their infrastructure and support services continue to be a cornerstone of the Island’s tech industry growth.
